How Do You Rate This Year’s WCG India?

ShareWCG India finals was organised in Mumbai a few days back and we covered the event on our Facebook page, (for interactivity sake) and personally I felt that it was ten-folds better than last time. That said, there is a lot of scope for improvement. This year’s winners in Counter Strike were ATE who defeated [...]

Review> Kane & Lynch Raids The Dragon’s Nest

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is set in Shanghai where Lynch seems to be doing his regular work — murder, extortion — but this time around he has a girlfriend because of whom he had mellowed down a bit. But then he meets up with Kane, along with whom he agree to do one final ‘gig’ after which they both could retire from the world of crime for good. Much like all ‘last gigs’ this one goes horribly bad and for the rest of the game you’ll play as one of the characters of the duo dodging bullets and killing the never ending army of Chinese gangsters.

The only good thing about the game are the dialogues, sarcastic as in the original, it’s bound to put a smile on your face.
The game has a short gameplay and has a cover system which will make it a pain to hide from oncoming bullets. Sometimes even when you’ve taken cover, enemy bullets will rip you apart making you wonder what the point of taking cover was to begin with. The AI seems to be in a constant race to outsmart you as it’ll spring surprise after surprise making some of the stages of the game quite difficult indeed.
During the cross fire, you experience the unstable camera mode which feels just out of ‘paranormal activity’.  The in-game artifacts, and the environment has been well designed and the devs deserve credits there.
However there are times when the game is just ‘off’, the gun system is not up to the mark and there is no such thing as a head-shot when it comes to killing the Chinese. You can unload a whole magazine in their heads and yet they’ll keep running around. This makes Kane & Lynch 2 one of the rare games in which your enemies can take more damage than yourself. The shooting system itself needs some work along with the physics and realism in the game, as it makes it seem quite unrealistic at times for a hardcore gamer. The gameplay too feels repetitive for a five-hour game as you’ll do only one thing in the whole game. Move forward, take cover, hoot, heal, shoot, move forward. The multiplayer however, is interesting.
On the multi-player front there are three modes- Undercover Cops (co-operative mode), Fragile Alliance (co-operative mode), Cops and Robbers.
The format of multiplayer is thought provoking as you’re offered a chance to kill your own team-mates once you complete a certain heist. This feature will surely keep the gamers in the co-op to have an entertaining betrayal gaming!
The graphic style which uses distorted visuals is interesting
The game is worth taking a shot at as it is very entertaining, and the conversations rate high on sarcasm scale.

Over and Out.

UPDATE: We’ve updated the review, as we feel that this IP still holds a lot of potential, but the devs seems to be screwing it every single time. We still hope that they might lucky with the IP the third time.
