When I first played Max Payne and Deus X, I actually felt like I’m in a movie. And I used to wonder if there would ever be quality movies based on games. There might be a few movies, but I haven’t seen any which inspired me as much as the game did. Then I came to know about Gamer, a movie in which the technology has advanced so much that people can control real human beings using mind-control.
From the looks of it, I’m expecting all kind of generalisations and exaggerations on gaming and gamers and their thoughts.
Whether any particular first person games inspired this movie or whether the movie will inspire another game, will have to be seen later. The game releases in October, so for now, here is the promo. Also, the movie website is worth a look, oy.. quit googling it’s here
