After Beatles now its time for Green Day to get their own Rock Band Game. The announcement from game-maker Harmonix (which is owned by MTV Networks) was made at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards on Saturday that Green Day was the next band to get the full-on Rock Band treatment. This will be the second-ever Rock Band special edition game for Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and Wii. Now fans can chose their favorite Green Day tracks, and play along as Rock Band avatars so they can feel what it’s like to perform onstage as Green Day.
Expected next year the game will span over entire career of the Grammy-winning punk trio. Rumors are there that a Green Day DLC three-pack will be available on December 15, featuring “Christian’s Inferno”, “Last of the American Girls”, and “¡Viva La Gloria!”, all from the 21st Century Breakdown album. Like The Beatles: Rock Band, this game will allow players to put themselves in venues and environments specific to the North California trio, and will feature key moments from the band’s three-decade career. [smartads] The game will feature the likenesses of Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool and allow fans to play songs from the group’s catalog, visit venues and view artwork that is key to their history. With a fully exportable track list that will allow users to play the songs in Rock Band and Rock Band 2.
Wonder now when will we hear Metallica or a U2 get their own Rock Band jamming.
