BioShock 2 Launch Trailer
Last night, 2k Games launched the trailer for their newest title Bioshock 2. The trailer offers very little new insight into the plot of the game or footage of actual game play. It starts with a splicer chasing a little sister through new areas of Rapture and you as Big Daddy playing the hero and saving her.
Slated to be be released on February 9th, 2010 for both Xbox 360 & PS3, looks like Rapture is going to open it’s gate again.
Have a look at the trailer here-
Avatar The Game: Preview
Making a game based on a movie is not new these days. The latest entry,
Avatar from Ubisoft, brings Cameron’s world of Pandora to consoles and PCs far and wide with its game take on the fictional world of Pandora.
Avatar-The game, does not follow the same story as the movie. The game sets long before the events that take place in the movie. The mining corporation is beginning to turn Pandora into a mining colony. You can decide whether to align yourself with the big blue tree-huggers or the rainforest-burning capitalists. Skills are pretty similar between the two sides, though taking the latter side looks much cooler here to me.
The stuff looks quite impressive as of now and the level of detail of the jungle and the creature animations are of extremely high standard. Ubisoft has even got a stereoscopic version of the game which if you have the 3D compatible gadgets, it enhances the gameplay experience.
You can customise more than sixty weapons available in the game, and choose your own unique skills for each clan. A suite of pilotable vehicles and animals allow gamers to expand the battleground in single-player or online multiplayer as they fight to determine the future of Pandora. Here’s the trailer. Check the space again for the full game review soon.

EA Sticks with Woods; PGA Tour Online to be Launched
“Mistakes Happen” seems to be Electronic Arts’s stand in the whole Tiger Wood’s saga. We all agree, don’t we? According to PC World, EA is not divorcing Tiger Woods. When all the other companies are keeping their distance from Woods, EA is the first one ready to stick by him. Now that’s support!
Electronic Arts president, Peter Moore, in his company blog said that the company would this month begin offering Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online, a browser-based golf game developed in the past year.
“Our relationship with Tiger has always been rooted in golf. We didn’t form a relationship with him so that he could act as an arm’s length endorser. Regardless of what’s happening in his personal life … Tiger Woods is still one of the greatest athletes in history,” he wrote.
Not just this. EA is even planning to launch a public beta of its new “Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online” game later this month, and is also expected to launch the next iteration of its “Tiger Woods PGA Tour” console game this summer.
Looks like Tiger has support for now until there is another scandal.

Green Day get their own Rock Band Game
After Beatles now its time for Green Day to get their own Rock Band Game. The announcement from game-maker Harmonix (which is owned by MTV Networks) was made at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards on Saturday that Green Day was the next band to get the full-on Rock Band treatment. This will be the second-ever Rock Band special edition game for Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and Wii. Now fans can chose their favorite Green Day tracks, and play along as Rock Band avatars so they can feel what it’s like to perform onstage as Green Day.
Expected next year the game will span over entire career of the Grammy-winning punk trio. Rumors are there that a Green Day DLC three-pack will be available on December 15, featuring “Christian’s Inferno”, “Last of the American Girls”, and “¡Viva La Gloria!”, all from the 21st Century Breakdown album. Like The Beatles: Rock Band, this game will allow players to put themselves in venues and environments specific to the North California trio, and will feature key moments from the band’s three-decade career. [smartads] The game will feature the likenesses of Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool and allow fans to play songs from the group’s catalog, visit venues and view artwork that is key to their history. With a fully exportable track list that will allow users to play the songs in Rock Band and Rock Band 2.
Wonder now when will we hear Metallica or a U2 get their own Rock Band jamming.
Desi Adda: Games of India- First Screens: Looks Better Than Hanuman
After Fifa, NFL, NBA, Cricket, now Indian games are ready to mark their presence on the gaming arena with Desi Adda: Games of India. Sony has developed this console game that includes indigenous sports like Pachisi, Goat & the tiger, Kite Fight, Kabaddi, Gilli Danda and the beat matching dance game. The game is developed by Hyderabad based GameShastra, for PS2.
First Looks
“First impression is the last impression”. This saying has always mattered and will matter in the future too. Desi Adda has lived up to this saying. After checking out the Hanuman earlier which disappointed us, Desi Adda by the looks of it impresses us here. Hope it lives up to the impression it has created here.

The game surprisingly has a s ’story line’. You play the part of Avinash, son of an NRI businessman, who comes to visit his ancestral village (Dil Bole Hadippa in a rural way
). The guy has spent his time abroad, and this being his his first visit to an Indian village, it fascinates him. The story unfolds as he roams around the village and plays the different village games. We hope they won’t have cheesy hindi dialogues like in the Hanuman game which was released earlier.
Priced at Rs499 for PS2 and Rs999 for the PSP (yes there’s a PSP version!), the game is playable in 3 Indian languages : Hindi, Punjabi and in Tamil and this game is the first game completely developed by Indian Development Studio for the PSP.
Developed on a low budget, what we think here is that the game should get a fair trial & has to be seen as a advancement in the Indian gaming industry (trying to be a nationalist here
).
We are curious to see how they implemented games like kabaddi, gilli danda on a console and how the game mechanics are going to be. Watch out this space for more updates.
PS: Again, we’re hoping, praying, pleading that it’s not like Hanuman. If it is, we’re not even bothering to play it fully like we did last time!

There’s Always a Girl Says the New GTA IV Trailer
We have all heard about Tony Gay now, Rockstar’s gives another sneak peek at some of the social interaction between previous stars and the new crew with a new trailer “ There’s always a Girl”. You can also get to see some of the action like jumping off of a motorcycle and onto a jet, whoa! Does this keeps you coming back to GTA for more… We shall see… Enjoy the video
LA Noire: A Noir Genre Altogether
After films like Sin City etc, now games enter the exclusive noir genre. Rockstar Games brings LA Noire. Long in development, never seen in any sort of playable form and without any confirmed platforms the game has been raised many eye brows. As the name suggests, the game is supposed to draw heavily from the noir genre films. That means we can expect a lot of visuals in black, red & low key lighting. The game is tipped to use a distinctive colouring-style in homage to the visual style of noir films. This should impress Frank Miller’s & Tarantino’s around.
Set in a perfectly recreated Los Angeles with a post-war backdrop of corruption, drugs and jazz, LA Noire is tipped to blend cinema and gaming. It is an interactive detective story set in the late 1940s. The game blends action, detection and complex storytelling and draws players into an open-ended challenge to solve a series of gruesome murders. Whether it can be better than Mafia is quite debatable, of course until we get our hands on it.
Looking at the trailer , graphics look as good as it does in Mafia II also I’m looking forward to a lot of hand-hand combat in the game. For people like me who are fans of this genre, the game will be something to look forward to. We can enjoy the trailer till then here…

What they said…
