EA expands studio , development centre in India

Electronic Arts has always been pretty enthusiastic about India as a market for gaming and that reflects in popularity of EA games in India. Let it be FIFA, NFS,  Crysis or Sims; Indian gamers have accepted them with open arms. Also, India has finally woken up to gaming and each day we here of a new game being developed a game there.

So yes, getting back to EA.. what have they done new? Well they have expanded their operations in India by opening a new development centre in Hyderabad. The centre in Hyderabad is specifically designed for technology as well as content relevant to India, the region and the international audience. It is also poised to offer talented Indians a chance to create world class games for gamers all over the world.

Amol Gurwara, head of operations for the mobile division of EA India studio, expressed his excitement during the press tour of the new EA studio, “The expansion of EA’s development studio in Hyderabad signals a transformational phase for the Indian game development industry. Developers derive a lot of satisfaction when they see that the titles they contribute to connecting with audiences across the world of diverse cultural backgrounds. And working on EA’s titles will allow exactly that to happen. The gaming industry is renowned for embracing talent from a wide spectrum of industries. The new studio in Hyderabad will be an opportunity for local talent to enter the exciting world of gaming and be a part of this worldwide entertainment phenomenon.”
