Just in from e-xpress, Ben 10: Alien Force Vilgax is now available in stores. If you’re a fan of the cartoon like my cousin you should buy it. The picture says the rest.
Square Enix, today announces it has released a demo of Supreme Commander 2 on Steam today. Developed by Gas Powered Games, SC2, is set 25 years after Supreme Commander, and it features numerous game enhancements in the form of in-depth campaign mode, online multiplayer and a unique storyline.
The demo has two levels of the tutorial as well as two missions for the United Earth Federation (UEF), one of the three factions of the Colonial Defense Coalition. In the game, the Cybran invasion force is on the run and sensors have picked up a number of operational Cybran Mass Extractors off the coast of the Weddell Strait. Players will need to explore the islands in the strait and successfully destroy the extractors.
After refusing orders and refusing to surrender their Armored Command Unit, players are now public enemy #1 in the UEF. Colonel Rodgers has targeted New Cathedral, a colony where the players’ wife and child reside – they will need to take the most direct route to defend the colony. Unfortunately, that means traveling through the ruins of the Boolon Industrial Complex.
Following launch of a gaming store by competitor E-xpress, Milestone has launched one in Mumbai — called game4u after their online gaming site. According to GameGuru, “the store is more about delivering an interactive entertainment experience to the customer.”
The store has a special Game4u Girls section and an area where gamers can try out Rock Band kit. The store also has a special blu-ray section if you’re into watching movies in HD (ehmm.. on your PS3). Game4uGirls is a section comprising of games which they think appeals to girls such as Hannah Montana, Littlest Pet Shop etc, there are also a few Wii games in this section. The store will also let gamers trade in older games for new ones according to IVG, but it needs to be seen what kind of prices they’ll offer. If they offer good prices people might prefer such stores where they get money instantly instead of forums.
We had earlier written about Milestone’s plans to open a store when they were hiring people through their blog.
The store launch leaves e-xpress with a question if they should be opening an online store or not. Milestone has both online and offline covered under the game4u branding and not the ball’s in e-xpress’s court to make their move.
News on the competition aside I’m looking forward to console manufacturers tying up with these stores to bring out special super-discounted consoles. such a move will not only give these some publicity, but’ll also do some good for gaming in India which has growing at a slow rate.
If any of you want to check it out, it’s at Mega Mall, Oshiwara (psst do let us know what you think about it )
If you want to play Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the upcoming game from Ubisoft, all you have to do is buy a copy of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction for Xbox360.
Yes you hear that right; Ubisoft is offering gamers a chance to be the first to play Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s Multiplayer Beta this summer. This exclusive beta invitation will be available for a limited time to customers who purchase Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction for Xbox 360.
e-Xpress Interactive would be releasing the game Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction in India in April 2010. So if you’re looking forward to Future Soldier, you can pre-order Splinter Cell Conviction and have an early advantage here’s a teaser video of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
We had written earlier about how game4u, an initiative by Milestone Interactive (game distributors) who were planning to launch a retail outlet for selling games and accessories. Looks like someone else has beat them to it — as a new retail chain called ‘Games the Shop’ has been launched in R-city mall in Mumbai and according to MCV,
The owners plan to open an additional 15 stores over the coming year, all of which will stock both modern formats such as Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii as well as handheld and older consoles like the PS2.
Other promised in-store features include demo pods, specialist advisors and both chart and discount titles.
Sounds like a good deal except for the fact that the post doesn’t mention the name of the company, but it does mention Anand Khemani to be the director of the chain. Anand Khemani, for the record, is the CEO of e-xpress interactive, one to the top game distributors in the country. So now we finally have a strong competition between distributors. When will Milestone launch their store? I hope they don’t delay much for their own good.
Good news, you don’t need to connect your PS3 to a PC any longer to record your PS3 gameplay footage. Just Cause 2 for PS3 comes equipped with this feature baked into the game. And like in Spore, you can upload the videos directly to youtube from the game.
From the press release:
The in-game menu has a 10 minute capture feature which allows players to create more detailed and planned presentations. Gamers will be able to capture and share in-game mission walkthroughs, create online speed-run competitions, direct their own South East Asian-inspired Machinima and more, with the best YouTube videos linked from the official website allowing users to vote on their favourites, with prizes awarded for the best of the best.
Just Cause 2’s video capture and upload feature will be available exclusively for the PlayStation3 computer entertainment system. Just Cause 2 will also ship for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Games for Windows and will be released under the EIDOS brand portfolio. All formats will release in-stores on March 23rd, 2010, in North America and March 26th, 2010, in Europe, Middle East, and Australasia.
The game will be released in India on March 26 by e-Xpress Interactive.
Now the big question why can’t Xbox360 users capture and upload video?
Highly anticipated title, Bayonetta, will finally be available in India on Jan 8, Friday, corresponding with the release of the game in Europe. Developed by Sega, this third-based action game, set in a fictional city in Europe, will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3. The game which relies heavily on combos has a sort of bullet-time — witch time — which activates a slow-mo sequence where you can inflict maximum damage while giving enemies very little time to react.
The game has received great reviews in Japan, where it released in October 2009.
As a gamer, I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with the word ‘option’; I love it when one of the options is too good to be true; I hate it when all the options are good. This month and the in the coming one, all we gamers will be showered with options, thanks to E-Xpress. I’ve been getting mail after mail from them over the past week and a half on games that’ll be and has released in India. What’re the games you ask? Here goes nothing…

The game will be releasing sometime this December and is available for PS3, Xbox360, PC, Wii and PSP.
So there, we’re spoilt for choice now let me go back to my first line.. the love-hate relationship. I hate to miss out on any of these games. Where will I put my money. Which game will I buy? Tough choice indeed!
We certainly enjoyed playing Ashes Cricket 2009 by Codemasters a lot, and now we have been informed that e-xpress interactive, the distributors of the game in India, has tied-up with NRG Gaming Lounge in Mumbai to organise a Ashes Cricket 2009 tournament in the city. The tournament will feature PC and Wii versions of the game. From what I have heard, the Wii version is fun to play and much simpler than the PC version.
